The hunt for a colourful morning.

The Orange Skies over Sandia Peaks

Yesterday I happened to look at the sky, which was filled with scattered clouds during the sunrise. It was a very beautiful scene with the reddish coloured clouds and the bright orange background. I couldnt get a good picture as there were a lot of obstructions like the electric poles and buildings. I decided to go to my favourite high ground the UNM Parking Structure and click a few pics of the clouds. I couldnt get the picture I wanted but got this one. Not a great picture but something worth spoiling the sleep in the morning. Some consolation.

What the hell is 200% satisfied ??

200 Percent Satisfied at Walmart !!

I saw this on the walls of Walmart nearby and was surprised at how can a man be 200% satisfied ? If he is completely satisfied to the limit he can be satisfied that is when we say he is 100% percent satisfied. What the hell is is 200% satisfied ? Can some one explain?

Does human life carry any value in India?

Electrocuted Worker at Phulkal in Medak District, Andhrapradesh

This is yet another death of a man due to non-safe procuderes which are still being followed back in India. This man was a worker trying to fix some electrical components for the power supply. He 'assumed' that as usual the power would not be turned on, on this line till he fixes the transformer, but unfortunately someone did turn it on. A valuable life lost. I would not discuss if he had a family or the number of dependents on his income, because it is not the question here. The question is, has the value of life become soo cheap that this man was allowed to work on the transformer without the knowledge of the man who turned the power on, to this power line ? Are there any standard procedures to follow before some one gets up a transformer to work ? I guess not. How many people in public would care if there are any standard procedures for safety of workers ? All people care is if they have electricity when their favourite show comes up on TV and the fan runs when they want it ! Coming to the compensation of this man's death, it wont be more than a lakh. Is the life of this man worth just a lakh rupees ! I wonder how many more deaths like this are needed to bring down a change in the way the electricity department works in India. Did this man's death go in vain ? No. I have seen this and would not let this death go waste. What would I do, well time has to say, but I shall give the soul of this man the satisfaction that something came out of his untimely death.

Update : My friend Sumanth, brought to my notice that a few employees are seen to use Walkie-Takies and that there was a good protocol to be followed. So I guess the lineman was ignorant in this case but yet the employer should have made sure that such ignorant people are not allowed to jobs like this.

The strange thing about the heroines...

Telugu Heroine Charmy with a Balakrishna fan on her set.

Well above is the picture of a telugu heroine called Charmy who is standing next to a guy who is a fan of the Hero with whom this lady is doing a movie. From the picture one can see that the girl is using a shawl to cover her upper portion. I saw a similar scene when Cindy Crawford was doing her movie 'Fair Game' and there was this steamy scene where she is nude and in the breaks of the scene she used to come out of the cabin where the nude scene was covered exactly like this in a shawl. That made me wonder when there are no nude scenes in the telugu movies, why is she wearing a shawl ? Well the answer is pretty obvious, she is wearing certain attire which is equivalent to the nude scenes in Hollywood movies and that she doesnt want to expose her self to this chap. But the irony is telugu movies with scenes like this are not rated for adults but here in US they are rated 'R' and many people do watch telugu movies with family ! I wonder when the audience will standup and ask a good rating system and a very good implementation of it. I know that many kids get to Lamba theatre (Theatre in Hyderabad where adult movies equivalent of 'X' here are screened), with out being asked for an ID. When will people start using their head ? There is soo much of adult material on TV theese days back in India and still people dont want 'XXX' to be screened. But the matter of fact is that every one has access to these videos, then what the hell is the Law doing ? All I can see is that the Law does nothing but collect money from the people and fill their pockets. God save the next generation of kids ! In my opinion people below 18 should not be allowed access to adult material and people above 18 should have access to adult material legally.
