The Forgotten Crescent

The Forgotten Crescent

I took this picture last October and left it on the harddrive forgotten. Today, by chance I came across this when I am seperating the pictures of Radhika from the collection. This was a very beautiful sight, we were coming back to Albuquerque from Hemes and I took a quick shot at this and ran back to the car. It was a very delightful scene, I had seen a crescent soo thin many times in the night, but didnt get an oppurtunity and when I got this, I completely forgot that I took such a picture, now that the post on the red moon had been active I thought this would be a good addition. I usually donot get a chance to capture something interesting every now and then, so didnt make it a point to start a photoblog. But I think I should make a good photo portfolio. I should be able to dig some nice pics and have them in the gallery and the ones which are ranked the best could make it to my portfolio. Doesnt it sound cool. Let us see when it is going to materialse.

Desi ipodders.

Desi ipodders

I knew that apple is selling a hell a lot of ipods and ipod-shuffles in US, but still I was surprised when I saw my desi friends have them. It is so not desi like I guess to have a product because of the looks. Well atleast in electronics. If we were to go really for the looks and feel, we must have been using the iMac computers. This is where i think apple has very much suceeded, it has entered the market with its ipod series which it couldnot capture with the iMac computers. I believe that ipods even though they look really cool, they are pretty much overpriced ! I guess we will soon see a lot of white earbuds in our desi friends soon .....

The Rising Moon

What a beauty ...

This was the scene I captured when I went to the top of the parking structure at UNM. I never imagined the moon could be soo red and the rising moon could be sooo cool. I didnot process the photo in any way, the moon was infact more red than what is here. The stray light has caused noise in the camera, but this picture is indeed going to be one of my best takes ....

The Smalltime Fighter..

Try and Try .....

I saw this chap doing this thing again and again and again. He would do that run up, jump over those high stairs and fall flat and roll. He would get scratches on his bare back and then lifts up the skateboard and would go back up to run up. He did that for about 20 times and it was the same story repeating itself. I gave up on this guy and stopped shooting. Then he tries again and he does it. I found it very cool. He didnot give up. None of his friends tried to stop him from getting hurt again and again. I felt like giving him the piece of advise we have for all the people. The typical dialogue 'practice more and then try again'. If I were to do that I would not have seen the chap's confidence grow. He believed in himself and his friend who was standing didnt have the hope that he will suceed but he didnot discourage him. I find this simple thing which happened a very inspirational small story. The three characters involved, did the right thing. The skateboard chap believed in himself. The friend just let him do it and Me, did my job of keeping my mouth shut ! I think we indians need to learn this role play better.

The skateboard chap left with the content of defeating the tall stairs and the confidence that would for sure make him a stronger person. In this risk sport, I hope he does well ....
