Bird cooling off in the water

I saw this bird cooling off in the water, which got accumulated after a pipe had leaked some water. This was outside the EECE building of University of New Mexico. This would give an idea of the heat here. I have just returned from Phoenix, Arizona and trust me in the same setting, the bird would have already been dead even before it reached the ground for water !
